Soles Dance Center was established to bring to Huntsville a dance center that blends high quality dance training, a positive and encouraging atmosphere, and the right combination of creativity, technique, discipline, inspiration and fun. With our passion for dance and our strong commitment to each of our dancers, our goal is to provide each student with proper dance training and as many opportunities to learn and to grow in today’s dance industry as possible. We will provide you with a healthy curriculum to expand your dance training, all while building confidence, discipline, and team work. Whether your goal is to be a professional dancer, a competition dancer, or if you just love to dance, we want to give you the “Soles Experience” and welcome you into our dance family.

Soles is a dance studio where children are known. When Clara walks into a class, children shout her name and come running with hugs. Her teachers know her, encourage her, and make dance a special part of her week. We are grateful for Soles and the friendships and memories we are making here.

Creating Dancers Is What We Do Best

Here are the classes available at Soles Dance Center. (Class age requirements are based on dancer's age as of October 1, 2022.)

Tiny Tots (Age 2)

Attire: Pink tights, leotard, tutu if desired
Shoes: Leather ballet shoes (color recommendation: pink)
This 30 minute class is an introduction to basic movement. It consists of ballet and tumbling and focuses on timing, coordination, and creativity. This class is designed with the youngest dancers in mind.

Tiny Dancers (Ages 3-4)

Attire: Pink tights, leotard, tutu if desired.

Shoes: Pink leather ballet shoes, tap shoes (color recommendation: white).

This is the perfect introductory class to dance. This class combines ballet, tap, and light acrobatics. It really gets the little ones moving. Dancers will learn coordination, develop rhythm, and promote creative expression.

Tiny Tumblers (Ages 3-4)

Attire: Leotard, tutu if desired.

Shoes: None. Dancers will go barefoot.

This class will focus on tumbling, balance, agility, and coordination. Tumblers will begin working on flexibility and strength exercises. This class will not participate in recital.

Tippy Toes and Tappy Feet (Ages 5-7)

Attire: Pink tights, leotard, tutu if desired

Shoes: Pink leather ballet shoes, tap shoes (color recommendation: white)

This class is an extension from the tiny dancers program. It offers a combination of ballet and tap with light jazz and acrobatic techniques. Its purpose is to introduce students to different disciplines, which will guide them into the areas of dance they may wish to pursue. Dancers will perform either a ballet, jazz, or tap routine in our recital.

Bitty Boppers and Flip Floppers (Ages 5-7)

Attire: Stylish, trendy attire or a leotard. No tights.

Shoes: Tennis shoes. Tumbling portion will be done barefoot.

This class if for those high energy little ones that are always ready to show off their dance moves and who love to flip around. It combines the basics of hip hop (only age appropriate movement and music – we promise!) with basic acrobatic and tumbling skills. Dancers will perform one routine with a mixture of both styles in our spring recital.

Ballet (Ages 6+)

Attire: Pink tights, black leotard, ballet skirt if desired

Shoes: Pink split soles ballet shoes

The classical form of dance. This class promotes a strong technical base for all other dance forms. Barre, center floor, and progression are all used to develop ballet technique.

Jazz (Ages 6+)

Attire: Tight fitting dance attire, no t-shirts allowed

Shoes: slip-on jazz shoes (color recommendation: tan)

Stylistic class that focuses on technique, conditioning, musicality, and flexibility. In this popular class, students are taught upbeat routines to popular music.

Tap (Ages 6+)

Attire: Tight fitting dance attire, no t-shirts allowed

Shoes: Oxford-style tap shoes (black oxford solid sole tap shoe for advanced classes)

A fun, upbeat class that emphasizes rhythm, technique, footwork and timing through sound.

Acrobatics (Ages 6+)

Attire: Tight fitting dance attire, no t-shirts allowed

Shoes: slip-on jazz shoes (color recommendation: tan) or barefoot

A structured tumbling program that focuses on flexibility, strength, balance, and tumbling skills. Students must be enrolled in another discipline.

Hip Hop (Ages 6+)

Attire: Comfortable clothing, t-shirts allowed

Shoes: Clean tennis shoes or hip hop shoes

A funky, fast-paced form of street dancing that combines cutting edge moves with age appropriate music and choreography.

Contemporary (Ages 6+)

Attire: Comfortable dance attire, no t-shirts allowed

Shoes: Any jazz shoe, socks, or students can go barefoot

This fresh new class is based on emotion, interpretation, and musicality. It is a take from modern and lyrical techniques.

Pre-Pointe & Pointe

Attire: Pink tights, black leotard, ballet skirt if desired.

Class is by invite and evaluation only.

Our Companies - Sidekicks, Connection, and The Soles Company

Company Sidekicks

Director: Emily Davis

Sidekicks is our youngest performing company comprised of dancers ages 6 to 8. You will see our sidekicks perform and compete around the southeast! This is a fun, high energy group, working towards a goal of creating a love for dance and a strong, disciplined work ethic. Parent interest meeting will be held in the Spring. Company Connection

Connection is a company comprised of dancers ages 9 and up. They represent Soles Dance Center in competitions and performances around the city and state. This group is a dedicated group of dancers, who love dance and love performing. Parent interest meeting will be in the fall. Contact Miss Anna for inquiries on financial requirements.

The Soles Company

Soles Company is our highest level competition group. It is comprised of dancers ages 8 and up. Our company represents Soles Dance Center in competitions and performances around the Southeast. This group requires our highest level of dedication, time, and financial commitment. This group is chosen by audition only.
